Savour ale and cider on a short break in Winchester

There will be some tasty experiences on offer to people taking short breaks in southern England this year when the Winchester Real Ale and Cider Festival returns.

Travellers staying in holiday lodges in southern England can head to the Winchester Guildhall on March 25th and 26th to attend the event, which is organised by the Campaign for Real Ale.

Arranged to celebrate craft brewing in the heart of Hampshire, the festival will showcase more than 100 real ales, ciders, perries and other alcoholic beverages.

There will also be plenty of local food and entertainment to enjoy, including performances by Polly and the Billets Doux and the Winchester Morris Men.

Entry to the festival is restricted to people over the age of 18 and will be by ticket only.

David Mackie, organiser of the event, said: "There's undoubtedly great interest in the provenance of food and drink and in particular that which is part of our national heritage; why not challenge us to find something that suits your taste?"

People planning lodge holidays in the area can also visit attractions such as Winchester Cathedral and Wolvesey Castle.
