Supernatural star Jared Padalecki has teased out a few story details about about the Heaven story arc, which has been popping up a bit in the current series of Supernatural.
In a recent interview for Inner Space, he said that fans will learn more about the civil war being fought in heaven between the forces of Castiel (Misha Collins) and his nemesis Raphael.
“We do find out that Cas is kind of calling on some things maybe he even shouldn’t be calling on to help his cause,” explained the actor. “Ultimately his intentions are good, but as we’ve played with for six seasons on Supernatural, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.”
Padalecki added that he and his on screen brother Dean Winchester will ultimately get caught in the middle of the Castiel battle.
“We see Cas as an angel struggling with [questions like], ‘Do use this? Is this proper? Am I being altruistic or am I being power-hungry?’. and so we see this wonderful internal struggle.
“The [Winchester] boys are sort of caught up in the middle, because we have our own goals with getting rid of the Mother of all monsters.”
Supernatural will return to The CW on April 15.
