Burglars barge into Winchester woman’s home

TWO men barged into an elderly Winchester woman’s home and stole chequebooks, debit cards and cash.

The burglars struck in Trussell Crescent, Weeke, when they knocked on her front door and pushed past the victim described as elderly and vulnerable.

They rifled through her handbag and furniture in the two bedrooms stealing about £176 in cash, said police today.

Both men are white, between 30-40 years’ old, of medium build, about six feet tall, wearing flat caps that were dark cream in colour and black cotton gloves. They were clean shaven.

The road happened at about 2pm on Friday May 28.

The police advise householders to always use door chains when answering the door and only let people in when you are aware of their identity.
