Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This case, billed as a standard shotgun case, was too short to handle a standard Remington 12 gauge. The Rifle case by the same manufacturer was the same length, though wider, but still would not work. The dimensions were not clearly marked in the info, and we ended up paying postage both ways, though they waived the ( 25% ! ) restocking fee. This would be a great product if it were two inches longer.other gun safes we looked into were much longer.

The adage of “Beware of the one who uses a single gun” can be applied to quite a few firearm fanciers who favor an all-around shotgun to fulfill their various needs in the home and field. Since the legendary Winchester Model 12 pump-action shotgun dominated the market in days of old, slide-actions have been a favorite shooting tool of those who might touch off a couple of boxes of ammunition a year as well as to many wingshots and
Performance carried more weight than price in our test of pump-action 12 gauges capable of double duty as both self-defense and hunting tools. AMHERST CO., Va. —
In his small shop just outside Amherst, Lenny Whitcomb is hard at work.”This is an old Remington,” he says, looking at the single-barrel shotgun. “It’s got an ejection problem.”And he’s backlogged by six months.”It’ll be strip cleaned but I asked [the owner] the last time the trigger group was cleaned and he shook his head. he had no idea,” he says. Since late September, Whitcomb has been at Amherst Arms, just off Route 29. but for two years he’s been a master gunsmith; a title that only comes with nearly four years of professional training. “You had to learn everything from machinery to woodwork,” he says of his time at Piedmont Community College in Roxboro, NC. “You had to do it all.”You may find a gunsmith around the area but as Lenny sees it non are more qualified than he is. and that makes him one of a kind in Central Virginia. Now the prisons are calling him for gun repairs.
“The Department of Corrections called me and normally you need three bids [for a contract]. There were no other bids,” he says. “So they contacted me.”But aside from getting his hands dirty, Whitcomb loves the history of each firearm he sees. He’s currently working on a Winchester 1873 and even is cleaning a WWI-era German Luger.but just like the pistol, Whitcomb has his own military history. After an accident while he was in the Navy, he was told he couldn’t work while standing up. he could have collected checks from the government, but he wanted to stay busy.”I could never sit on my butt even though I was getting a check. at this point I can tell disability to kiss my rear end because I make more money than they can pay me,” he claims.

Hunting Rifles
Hunting is one of the primary human instincts and as such, has been known since the first homo sapiens appeared. At first our ancestors hunted for survival, however today is primarily a sport rather than a way to provide the family with food. Modern hunters differ not only in terms their purpose, but also the methods. For example, today man often accompanied by dogs trained to locate and pursue the game. But the difference Most notable is the use of firearms, especially target = “_blank” title = “hunting rifles” hunting rifles> that provide the greatest range and accuracy.
History of hunting rifles
The first guns can be traced back even to the 12th century, however rifles were created around 700 years later and replaced the guns in the fields of battle in the middle of the 19th century. At first was not used for military purposes, but time became less of a rarity and found that even in times of peace. Currently, rifles are the most popular type of firearm used for in the hunt for civilian shooters. What is interesting, hunting rifles have not changed much since the time of the First World War of course there are some modern materials used, making a more durable and accurate rifle, but the concept has not changed.
Choose the right weapon
There are many types target = “_blank” title = “hunting rifles”> hunting rifles: automatic and semiautomatic with a different number of shots. When choosing a rifle, consider weight, the conditions laid down, the animals that are hunted and – last but not least – their own shooting skills. The most versatile and seems to be Winchester Remington, however, more experienced hunters can also decide on hunting rifles as perfectly tailored to individuals’ expectations. Features that can be set are: type of wood, laminated, pattern, decoration, type of producer barrel and sight, the length and contour. Before the order is made, it is advisable to practice with different kinds of standard guns and get some tips to dealers. But even with the best weapon we have to devote time to improving our skills, as the only practice makes perfect.

i have a winchester 30-06 classic sporter. it has never been shot still in the box i got it about 7 years ago at a gun raffle and i was wondering how much it’s worth? its a walnut stock bolt action with a cheek rest. probably about a 24 inch barrel all though I’m not sure because i got a Remington .06 with a shorter barrel and its a 22 inch. I’ve been told at local gun shops its worth quite a bit since its not been shot and i also heard that Winchester stopped making guns in the US? not sure but if you could help, it would be appreciated. thank you.
